Sorry to resurrect this ancient thread, but was Brendan Fraser always the top pick to play Madman in a movie or TV show? Was that fan consensus, or was he actually in the running when there was more discussion about Robert Rodriguez directing it?

I've always envisioned Elijah Wood as Frank, with Emma Stone or Alyson Hannigan as Joe. Maybe Fraser could have done it ten years ago, but he's looking a little too old now.

I posted something about Brendan Fraser a couple years ago. I even made up a poorly shopped image of Fraser in a Madman mask. I'm not sure if anyone suggested it before that.

Back when I thought it was worthwhile to contemplate anything for Madman outside of comics my wife said, "What about Brendan Fraser?" So, it's because of that, that I must give her credit for the idea. Again, this might have been suggested before my time.

Also, I was posting under a different handle back then.
