 American Horror Story
Thoughts? It's picked up for a second season, but honestly, I can't see (at this point), how it can last past a first and maintain a cohesive story. I haven't watched last week's yet, but if it degenerates into an anthology (the owners are tormented by events that happened in the past!) I may tune out. It isn't pulling me in and it wants to be a modern Twin Peaks (not that Twin Peaks is old fashioned...)

 Re: American Horror Story
I've been enjoying it, but last weeks episode (Halloween part 2) felt a little treading o' water to me. I also don't know where the show will go from here on out. That's actually good, as it isn't "too" formulaic. Still, I'd be more interested in spending episodes dealing with creepy previous stuff rather than just quickie flashbacks.

 Re: American Horror Story
It's been renewed for a second season. How, I'm not quite sure. I can't see how this story can go on for more than a season without turning into some sort of self-parody. I've got an episode sitting on the DVR, but I'm not motivated to play it. Not a good sign...

 Re: American Horror Story
Watched this past weeks and it was even weaker than the one before it.
Yes, I'm still enjoying it... but I'm not quite as WOO about it as I was.

 Re: American Horror Story
That's not encouraging. Maybe if at least one of the characters was likable...

 Re: American Horror Story
I still like the mom okay.
The dad isn't so redeemable. Every time he tries to act like he is then he opens his mouth and "ugh" comes out.
The daughter would get my compassion, but she keeps giving her mom crap, which makes her come off like a brat.
The last two episodes, now, have felt water treading-ish. *shrugs*

 Re: American Horror Story
This weeks episode felt much stronger to me than the previous two. Very interesting to see how the other half "lives". But can you really trust what the other "tenants" are saying or are there even more ulterior motives behind what they say. The idea of two (or more) factions of spirits with different motives towards the living was something I wondered about on this show. Looks like there's going to be some version of "good cop/bad cop". Still... who to trust?
Specific thoughts: -Mopey teen boy continues to sulk with downcast eyes, yet shows more examples of his ruthless behavior. Does he do the things he does (especially in this episode) because he really wants to please "the ladies of the house" or is that just an excuse for him to act on his selfish, baser impulses?
-Violet, the daughter, oughta be kicked in the shins. Doesn't she know the old adage: "Person-who-birthed you before sulky-whacko's"?
-First owner/wife seems to be the most confused and sympathetic character, at least so far. Almost makes you forget about the little side abortion business she had going with her lush doctor husband (who played a reeeeally annoying character in "Rose Red", btw).
-The mother continues to be be the only living character worth two hoots in Hell. I really feel for her.
-Still curious as to how sulky boy's ghosts (shown in previous episodes) were at the house when they were killed off the grounds.

 Re: American Horror Story
Sulky-Lad and his Ghosts (which is the name of my Depeche Mode cover band) were moderately interesting to me, but not enough to continue to rope me in. Three episodes stacked up on the DVR - the sign is clear. Fare thee well...

 Re: American Horror Story
I'll finish this season as I hate leaving things half-read or half-watched. Depending on how it ends will depend on if I return for Season 2 or not.

 Re: American Horror Story
If it gets better, let me know, I may return via On-Demand, but the odds aren't good.
