Brian Huberd wrote: Superman #1 was just these impenetrable blocks of text I agree. It was almost a chore to read, and the overall story didn't feel like anything I hadn't seen Superman deal with before when he just wore tights, trunks, and when his issues were in the double or triple digits.

I agree with Superman #1 being a chore to read. It was really hard to get through.
I think I'll be dropping it after #3 (that's how far I've pre-ordered so far) and just read each issue of Action Comics twice.

Hopefully it becomes worth buying up to issue 3.

For me reading the stuff put out by DCnU is a chore in itself.
Even titles I know I'm going to enjoy I keep in my "to read" shortbox of comics until I have several other DCnU titles handy so I can read several in the same period.. Exhausting isn't quite the word for what I'm feeling.
I feel like I have to be in the right frame of "remember to forget everything you used to know". Which I don't think is the "YAY, LOOK AT OUR SHINY NEW COMICS!" that they seem to have in mind.
It also doesn't help that every time I read some Didio says online it makes me feel greasy and sleazy... like he's grinning really big at me while trying to put his hypothetical hand down my hypothetical sisters hypothetical pants.

DiDio is a hypothetical-fetishist.

Superman #1 was squandered opportunity. I can't speak to DiDio as I've never met him, but I did watch the conversation with him, Scott Snyder and Denny O'Neil on the Batman Year One Blu Ray. Hmmmm... That's all I can say.
