evidently Scott Snyder is going to write Batman instead of Detective, which is fine. he's also writing Swamp Thing
and Peter Milligan on Justice League Dark. whatever, it's Peter Milligan. i'll buy it
and Jeff Lemire is writing a new Frankenstein book and an Animal Man book. great. now i'n buying DCU books again

the majority of the creative teams are strong as you would expect from DC,though some are puzzling,like I said,Williams is a fantastic artist,his work on Promethea is perhaps one of the best Alan Moore comics,and comics in general,wonderful stuff,
though I'm still wondering why they are giving relatively unproven writers high profile books,was it Rick who earlier had said that he wrote 2-3 comics before this,that doesn't mean he is qualified to write a Bat title,even more puzzling is Flash with Francis Manapaul,who is a good artist,though unproven as a writer,and we have Flash at the centre of the DC universe,and now they will let the title fade into oblivion,same thing with Detective,
Tony Daniel is a satisfactory artist,doesn't mean he should write a New Detective #1,it took more than 75 years to get to that number and here we are again with a useless renumbering,


apart from that,good creative teams for the most part,I'm also hoping
Jonah Hex will still be on the list,Palmiotti and Gray have done a magnificent job on that title,70 issues for a title that many perhaps thought would only go for 20 issues is a terrific success,

You actually raise some interesting questions. However, at this time I will refrain from subscribing to your newsletter.

Regarding the numbering, with the two big legacy titles out there - Action and Detective, I honestly can't see them staying with this new renumbering for very long. However, I will take advantage of the situation by purchasing an Action #1 to amuse myself. Sure, I already have one, but now I can have two.

I don't think Flash is going to fade away post Flashpoint. Don't forget that it was Showcase #4 and the introduction of Barry Allen as the Flash that ushered in the Silver Age. There may be more to Flashpoint that what we're seeing right now, so give it time.

That said, there is no way that I'm going to get EVERY Flashpoint title. Just the core title, World of Flashpoint and the GL/Flash issues.

Concerning Flashpoint, I'm picking up the main book, World of GL and the Batman book. There are a couple others that I'd like to pick up due to the creative teams but the longer time passes the more tenuous DC is feeling to me.

I don't know what I'm going to do in September. Books I usually would've read could be a turn-off due to the relaunch by *maybe* throwing out more recent continuity.

I'll get Justice League 1 since it's the cornerstone of this new DCU, along with JLI - because it's JLI, the Green Lantern titles out of compulsion, the Action 1, and...oh...the Flash I suppose. Thanks for making it easy, DC!

ps - my Action 1 is the Treasury-sized edition from the 70s.

the only DCU book i currently read is Detective Comics, but come September i'll at least be checking out Batman, Animal Man, Frankenstein, Action Comics, Swamp Thing, Justice League Dark, and Wonder Woman all because of the creative teams. 7 out of 52. and i'm sure these books will either not all entertain me or the teams will change before long.

i'm sure at first this will seem like a win for DC, and i'm equally sure that before too long things will go back to the way they were, both saleswise and numbering/ status quo.

Well,I will be getting 10 out of 52,will be getting the Omac and Justice League Dark first issues,

though the main series I'm getting,

Justice League - though I doubt that Jim Lee can keep up to schedule,I give him 6 issues before he gets a fill in artist to do a few issues,he's never done long runs to be truthful,though as long as Geoff Johns is on the book,I'm sold,

I gotta agree. Not all 52 titles will survive, and that's probably by design. This could be a run it the flag pole situation. The evergreen titles will stick around (yeah, they're really gonna axe Action...). If something fails, end it and put another title in rotation. Also DC Presents will probably be the modern version of Showcase. Anything popular out of that might get its own title. I'll get my GL titles, Flash and I'll read the first arcs of Justice League, Justice League International and Action. But really once that's done, it'll be about 6 DC titles, which probably isn't a bad idea anyway to scale back to. I really, really hope that post-Flashpoint we get a break from "events" for a good long while.
