Re: Comics That Freaked You Out
"Bob's Favorite Comics." Life long trauma... Specifically, it was a story about Care-Dog and Pee Bear. The comic is an anthology one-shot centered around J.R. "Bob" Dobbs, the messiah of the Church of the Subgenius. I also carry permanent scarring from some of S. Clay Wilson's contributions to Steve Bisette's Taboo anthology. I offer no details... If you should ever happen upon Bob's Favorite Comics, give it a shot and I'd be thrilled to talk details! John Young

the geek- the vertigo one-shot that mike drew... that got under my skin. i'll admit that. first time i read it doing night shift security. rogan gosh:star of the east, as well. also a vertigo title. locke and key #1, in a way. as a kid there was an ad on the back of one of my ghostbuster comics, i can't remember what of 'fright night' or 'tales from the crypt' that used to bug me

Re: Comics That Freaked You Out
The death of Gwen Stacy in Spider-man literally put a stop to my childhood reading comics.
Years later when brought back into the fold Ed The Happy Clown completely freaked me out and fascinated me at the same time, even inspiring me and realizing that independent visions made the best comics.

Re: Comics That Freaked You Out
Love and Rockets, Beyond Palomar, not that it totally freaked me out, this was a month ago,I was suffering a bad serious fever and thought I was dying, and was reading through the book and was delirious, and didn't know what was happening totally, where I was or anything, and saw the graphic violence depicted and that scared me a bit,
though after recovering, felt better and reread that and didn't freak me out as much,
so true,
peace.
